My Safe Florida Home program is here to help. Launched in November as part of a comprehensive property insurance reform bill, this program offers financial support of up to $10,000 for essential home upgrades like new windows, doors, and roofs. As move through 2023, it’s a great opportunity to explore the eligibility criteria and benefits that this program offers.
The initial round of funding, totaling $115 million, has already been claimed. But the program isn’t stopping there. An additional $100 million will become available on July 1, along with expanded eligibility criteria, making it easier for more homeowners to take advantage of this valuable opportunity.

Does my Safe Florida Home Program have income limits?
Since its launch, the program has garnered significant interest. As of this month, more than 19,000 residents have applied, with over 11,000 approved and nearly 500 already reimbursed. The program aims to expedite the process, but due to a backlog of applications, some participants have experienced delays in approval and reimbursement.
This isn’t the first iteration of the My Safe Florida Home program. The original version, active from 2006 to 2009, encountered challenges such as waiting lists, billing discrepancies, and issues with inspectors. To address these concerns, the program has been revamped to enhance the customer experience and provide more efficient support to applicants.
